ABOUT ME

Your friendly neighbourhood yoga instructor

I first discovered yoga at the age of 12 in the lunchroom of a local school. The setting wasn't particularly remarkable, but the classes changed my life. Since then, I have pursued yoga anywhere and everywhere: I completed my 200-hour teacher training at Downward Dog Yoga Studio in Toronto in 2016, and I have been instructing in studios, gyms, shopping centres, forests, libraries, and digital spaces ever since. In 2021 I completed supplementary yin yoga teacher training, and I continue to read and learn independently to improve my ability to teach a wide variety of audiences in a wide variety of styles and spaces.

Yoga is a comprehensive practice and philosophy that originates from India, meant to be incorporated into all aspects of practitioners' lives. I specialize in teaching creative, beginner flow-based asana practices. Asana, the physical practice of moving the body through different postures, is just one element of yoga, intended to prepare the body for meditation and deeper philosophical and spiritual work. I hope to introduce this physical practice to as many individuals as possible in my own playful way as an entry point to the larger practice and philosophy. At the very least, I hope that my classes help others to feel a little more comfortable, easy, and present in their bodies.

My joy comes in introducing yoga to others for the first time, especially in unexpected ways! I love demonstrating that yoga can be done by everyone, in all places, at all times. I've taught all ages, from six to sixty, and all levels, wearing all manner of attire (including jeans!). I'm eager to discover new ways to share yoga with as many people in as many places as possible, and to make the world a little bit brighter in the process.
